Contacts enhanced your browser by making it aware of your online contacts and friend lists.
More exactly with Contacts you can easily search and browse your contacts right from the browser, and jump to a website that asks for permission to access them through an API.
How Contacts works
The Contacts prototype consists of these pieces:
· A browser-based Contacts database that stays in sync with your address books (so far, it supports GMail, Twitter and Mac OS Address book)
· A generic importer system for Contacts from desktop or web-based address books (so you can implement missing ones)
· An email autocompletion feature, which demonstrates how the browser can auto-complete email addresses on any website. The autocompletion is performed entirely in the browser, without sharing the your list of contacts with the website.
· A Javascript API that websites can use to access the Contacts database, with explicit user permission and filtering
Note: Contacts is cross-platform and it works on Mac OS X, Windows and Linux.
Requirements:
· Firefox 3.6 to 4.0b8pre

· Support for Yahoo! import. You will need to log in and retrieve a security code from Yahoo! to enable the importer.
· Support for Facebook import and discovery. When you connect to Facebook you will need to authorize Firefox Contacts to access your account. This integration is using the brand-new Facebook Graph API, and may still have some hiccups. You may need to Refresh your connection to Facebook on occasion to make it work properly.
